Job Coach Role

Job Coaches assist people with disabilities with learning their job duties while employed or within the employee’s probationary period. This can include accompanying an employee for a specific amount of time to their shift, attending New Hire Orientation, job skill development, and other needed supports and accommodations while on the job.

Job Coach Goal

The goal of job coaching is to fade out the hours of support as the employee becomes more proficient at their job, in which a Job Coach may only check in once and a while, or their services are not needed. The frequency of support is dependent on neccessity.
